Cell specific inflammatory mechanisms in cardiovascular diseases and angiogenesis

A graduate student position for 3 years with the option to continue with PostDoc is available at the University of Tübingen, Section for Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine. Our expertise is vascular biology/inflammation and angiogenesis (e.g. Nat Med. 2009, 15(5):553-8) as well as regenerative medicine in cardiovascular diseases (e.g. Circ Res 2006, 3;98(2):e2-10). Projects adressing relevant and challenging scientific questions in both fields are available for interested colleagues and would be discussed according to the applicants interests.
The successful candidate should be interested in Molecular biology (or equivalent), ideally with cardiovascular background and some experience in molecular and cellular techniques. Especially experience or strong interest in mouse studies is expected, because we will apply trangenic and knockout mouse models.
