Catalytic conversion of methane from renewable recourses

The Leibniz Institute for Catalysis is (LIKAT) the largest research institution in the field of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis in Germany. LIKAT offers a PhD-student position for a period of 3 years with the topic “Catalytic conversion of methane from renewable recourses”.

The planned work comprises:
-preparation and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts
-processing of catalytic tests in fixed bed reactors
-transfer of preparation methods to membrane surfaces
-testing of activated membranes in catalytic membrane reactors

A diploma degree in chemistry or an international equivalent is required. The candidate should have experiences in inorganic synthesis techniques and characterization of inorganic materials. Experiences in the field of catalysis and/or chemical engineering are desirable. Solid knowledge in computing, interpretation of data and its presentation is necessary.

Compensation is comparable to 50 % TV-L/ MV.
