The mitotic spindle checkpoint and genomic instability in human cancer

Applications are invited for a PhD student position (TVL 13/2) in the field of cancer and the cell cycle.
Our group studies the DREAM/LINC complex and its target genes that play important roles in the regulation of mitosis. The project will focus on the question of how novel DREAM target genes regulate key mitotic events with an emphasis on the mitotic spindle checkpoint and genomic instability.
In our research, we use state of the art technologies such as high content RNAi screening, ChIP-seq and advanced animal tumor models. The PhD student will be part of a Graduate School, which offers interdisciplinary practical training, summer schools and retreats, mentoring by a thesis committee of three experts in the field, and a highly stimulating research environment.
